Legal 
Legal DNA paternity tests, under the guidelines of the AABB and LAB, require an independent collector to verify the identification of each participant and witness the collection. Legal DNA paternity testing provides proof of identification for each paternity test participant and paternity test results are court admissible.

 

 

Non-Legal
Because the identity of each paternity test participant has not been verified, home paternity/non-legal test results will typically not be admissible in court.

The results from a home DNA paternity/non-legal test and a legal DNA paternity test have the same conclusive ranges and probabilities of paternity.

 

To take a secret DNA paternity test you will need to supply a sample from each person, usually a mouth swab for the father, and a discreet sample for the child, although any number of discreet samples, from anyone is acceptable.
